Mobility Control Via Passports

چکیده

Dπ is a simple distributed extension of the π-calculus in which agents are explicitly located, and may use an explicit migration construct to move between locations. We introduce passports to control those migrations; in order to gain access to a location agents are now expected to show some credentials, granted by the destination location. Passports are tied to specific locations, from which migration is permitted. We describe a type system for these passports, which includes a novel use of dependent types, and prove that well-typing enforces the desired behaviour in migrating processes. Passports allow locations to control incoming processes. This induces major modifications to the observations which can be made of agentbased systems. Using the type system we describe these observations, and use them to build a loyal notion of observational equivalence. Finally we provide a complete proof technique in the form of a bisimilarity for establishing equivalences between systems.

A Better Time Approximation Scheme for e-Passports

E-passports are the new means of identification documents in border control points, where special reader devices named inspection terminals are installed to authenticate travelers. The authentication of e-passports to inspection terminals is based on biometric data stored in the formers, while the authentication of inspection terminals to e-passports is based on digital certificates. To check t...

Crossing Borders: Security and Privacy Issues of the European e-Passport

The first generation of European e-passports will be issued in 2006. We discuss how borders are crossed regarding the security and privacy erosion of the proposed schemes, and show which borders need to be crossed to improve the security and the privacy protection of the next generation of e-passports. In particular we discuss attacks on Basic Access Control due to the low entropy of the data f...

Passport Recognition Using Enhanced ART2-based RBF Neural Networks

The judgment of forged passports plays an important role in the immigration control system and requires the automatic recognition of passports as the pre-phase processing. This paper, for the recognition of passports, proposed a novel method using the enhanced RBF network based on ART2. The proposed method extracts code sequence blocks and individual codes by applying the Sobel masking, the sme...

Anatomy of Biometric Passports

Travelling is becoming available for more and more people. Millions of people are on a way every day. That is why a better control over global human transfer and a more reliable identity check is desired. A recent trend in a field of personal identification documents is to use RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology and biometrics, especially (but not only) in passports. This paper pro...

Next Generation Border Crossing: ePassports and Their Impact on Border Control

Over the course of recent decades, new security features and more complex production methods have made passports safer and better protected against forgery and manipulation. Although the quality and level of passport security today still differ from country to country, each new generation of passports has brought with it significant improvements. The EU requirements for the introduction of elec...
